Explore the possibilities of kilnformed glass this Saturday and Sunday in our extensive kilnformed glass workshop- The Big Fuse: Introduction to Kilnformed Glass. (Saturday & Sunday, February 6 & 7, 2010, Pick up and Debriefing, Thursday, February 11, 6:00pm)
This class will introduce the basics of fusing and slumping while exploring the various forms of glass. Students will learn to design with glass using stringer, frit, confetti, and rod which will culminate in the creation of their own set of fused tiles, slumped bowl and plate. We will cover the basics of safety, cutting, kiln schedules, and glass compatibility. Students will leave the class with a solid foundation of knowledge in fused and slumped glass with which to build on for years to come. This is our most basic introductory class, NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.
