Borosilicate Flameworking - Nature Inspired Jewelry with Fahan Sky McDonagh

In this class, students will learn techniques for creating one of a kind pendants, earrings, and brooches inspired by nature. The class topics will include glass chain, hollow networked beads with hand sculpted core, natural found object encasement, jewelry and color design, and much more. Students will work on and off a mandrel using borosilicate glass. As a class, students will discuss firing and technical information, have fun, experiment and take risks. Each student will come away with several nature inspired projects— approaching jewelry as sculpture.
Experience flameworking in glass required. Experience working borosilicate glass helpful, but not necessary.
