Calling All Teachers - Summer Workshop - 'GLASS IN YOUR CLASSROOM'

Glass For All Ages - Glass in Your Classroom

Date(s):  Monday-Wednesday, June 30th-July 2nd, 2014
Time(s):  10:00am - 4:00pm each day
Glass in the Art Room?  Absolutely.  Glass is finding its way into schools across the country as a viable means of self expression as well as an enticing cross curricular tool in the toolbox to help illustrate concepts such as Science, Math and Literature.
Brazee Street School of Glass (SOG) has led the way creating age appropriate kiln-glass curriculum as a resource for educators. SOG has worked with hundreds of Cincinnati area children and teachers in over 25 local schools, in addition to teaching kid-formed glass workshops in Portland, Santa Fe, and more.
In this fast paced workshop, educators will be introduced to basic kiln-glass materials, processes, and equipment, while developing lessons to implement in their own classroom. Through demonstrations, samples, and hands-on activities, participants will experience a sequence of foundational kiln-glass projects appropriate for students ages 3-18.
Don't miss this unique opportunity to arm yourself with new skills as an educator. Participants will leave with samples, lesson plans, and the knowledge to teach kiln-glass art in their school.
