BEADS OF COURAGE - Annual Bead Challenge - Join us Saturday, September 20

Support Beads of Courage and participate in our annual 
Bead Challenge!  Young artists are invited to learn some 
beadmaking techniques with polymer clay, creating as 
many beads as they can in the allotted time. Beads will 
be fired and donated to children with serious illness at 
Cincinnati Children's Hospital and Medical Center 
through Beads of Courage. All ages welcome.

During the Bead Challenge, you can also make your own
Strength Bracelet, watch artists make glass beads on the
torch, sponsor an Act of Courage Bead, and win a door
prize!

Free and open to the public.

Can I fuse THAT in my glass? GLASS LAB is back, and this month we are talking about INCLUSIONS. Copper, foil, baking soda, and more, learn all about different materials you CAN fuse with glass. Check out a range of sample inclusions and the effects they create. Lesson free of charge!
GLASS LAB -  Brazee Street School of Glass introduces FREE info sessions, including tips and helpful hints on how to use specific Bullseye glass materials, fusing techniques, and project ideas.

Take your fusing to new DEPTHS in this exciting comprehensive workshop. Students will design thick, kilncast blocks using our library of glass and ceramic decal imagery- including landscapes, floral, food, animals, text, pattern, and more. Students will create their own block from start to finish, from mastering decal application, to glass cutting, to kiln loading, dams, and annealing.
DECAL BIG BLOCK is the perfect class for any beginning/intermediate fuser that wants to incorporate imagery into their work, and for those looking to break free from the 6mil rule!

No experience necessary.

SOG Summer: The Big Block - Drawing with Glass Workshop

Date(s):  Monday-Wednesday, July 7-9th, 2014
Time(s):  9:30-11:30am each day
Students in this class will focus on drawing with glass techniques to translate images, drawn and photographic, into original thick blocks. Students will work through samples, break down images, and learn to assemble and load their own glass block into the kiln. Students will have access to a range of glass powders, sheet, frit, and confetti to create their images, including the use of our large light-table. This workshop is perfect for the student looking to add glass as a new medium to their portfolio, the budding photographer, or any student that loves to paint and draw.
Bring images! Bring any drawings, photographs, magazine clippings, or anything that might inspire your glass block.
Ages 12-18
